Jonathan Wright‘s large-scale work, Profound Riches launched on Thursday 25th April with a gig at The Forum headlined by Mallory Knox, a band recently signed to Sony and booked for 2013′s Reading and Leeds festival.
Wright’s work transforms how we consider a building like the Forum. As well as installing the aluminium letter sculpture on the roof, Wright has enabled us to listen to the building itself, day and night via an internet radio stream. Through microphones, lights and transmitters he emphasises the building’s established role as a sound space and questions the way in which we hear. Wright is currently working closely with the team at The Forum and developing the work with through discussion with a cross-generational group who are active members of the Forum audience.
Profound Riches is on display both inside and outside The Forum from March - October 2013.
